Hellooo ! welcome to my 3rd blog, in this blog i will be showing my own product design using Autodesk Fushion 360 and practical 2 using cardboard joineries.

In week 5, i learnt that a one-point perspective drawing means that the drawing has a single vanishing point, usually directly opposite the viewer's eye and usually on the horizon line. All lines parallel with the viewer's line of sight recede to the horizon towards this vanishing point.

Meanwhile, two-point perspective drawing is defined by 2 vanishing points that represent 2 convergence points and infinite distance away.

On the right is my attempt to draw a one-point perspective of a coffee maker. At first, i was really confused on understanding how this 1/2-point perspective drawing works as i am really bad at art however, after Mr Ting explained to us i then understood.

As you can see on the left here, this is a one-point perspective of my team's eventual product after COWS. That is the cross-sectional section of the product so that you can see the inside.

Me and my team was also tasked to create a photoframe using Fusion 360. During this activity, the main difficulty i faced was learning how to use this application. At first, i tried playing around with it but i could not figure out how it works. Then, i looked up youtube videos on how to use it. Even though the tutorials was long and boring to watch , i managed to sit through it and kind of get the hand of how it works. Since there is 5 different parts of the frame, my team decided to split the tasks evenly by having one person to do 1 part of it. I was tasked to complete the 2nd layer which is the arcylic sheet.
PRACTICAL 2: Cardboard Joinery session
During the session, i was introduced to the different ways to join pieces of cardboard together. I learnt that Cardboard is a very important material for prototyping as it is inexpensive (or even free), sturdy, and easy to work with. It can be much faster to build with cardboard than wood, metal, or plastic, and the tools needed are a lot cheaper. During this practical, me and my team were tasked to create any object that consists of at least 6 different types of joinery of the the 9 that was shown.

My group then decided to make a gun from a movie titled 'Suicide squad' . In that movie a character called bloodsport used this gun as his weapon. We then sketched out the gun and think of ways to include the joineries. After some time , we deciced that the joineries to be included in our prototype of the gun was :
flange
Tabs
Inert
Slot + Tab
Brass Fasteners
Skewer
Zip ties
Me and my team then split our tasks in terms of which part of the gun and what type of joineries we had to make out of the cardboard and carried out our assigned tasks.
The joinery that i was tasked to create was tabs. To me, tabs were very easy to make and i had no difficulties making it.

At the of the session, we finally could see our product come to live. It turned out exactly as how we expected it to be. I would say that this idea of making a gun was actually brought up last minute however, my group were quite happy about the results.
